Talk about breaking the glass ceiling! The U.S. Navy has announced that it has chosen its first female commander of a nuclear powered U.S. Aircraft carrier! Amy Bauernschmidt will go down in history for not only being the first woman to command a Nimitz or Ford class carrier in 2022 but also the first to become an executive officer aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and served on the USS John Young destroyer.
