Learning from the lessons of the severe gasoline shortages in the East Coast following Hurricane Sandy, the U.S. Dept of Energy now has a 500,000 barrel gasoline reserve (not to be confused with the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve) in New York and New England to keep those emergency vehicles running.
