Google to acquire Twitch.tv for $1 billion

First it was Apple with Beats by Dre, then AT&T buying DirecTV. Now, Google has joined the acquisition itch by preparing to acquire video game streaming startup Twitch.tv for $1 billion. Integrated into Sony’s Playstation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One, the service is a dominant player for video game streaming video and will solidify an already dominant YouTube portfolio.
